Welcome to Shropshire Council’s staff engagement hub
Creating the Council We Need to Be.
This your dedicated space for all things related to staff engagement at Shropshire Council. It’s here because of you, your feedback, your ideas, and your commitment to shaping the future of our organisation.
Staff engagement isn’t just a tick-box exercise, it’s about creating a workplace where everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered. Your feedback helps us:
- Identify what’s working
- Understand challenges
- Build solutions together.
Shropshire Council’s Leadership Board are committed to improving our staff engagement. Tanya Miles said:
“We know that a two-way conversation is important to you. We (Leadership Board) very much welcome your ideas, challenges and solutions and we’re currently creating lots of opportunities to make it as easy as possible for you to share these with us. All of your thoughts, ideas, feedback and solutions matter and we look forward to hearing from you.”
You said, we did

What is the engagement hub?
The engagement hub is a growing resource that brings together:
- Staff pulse surveys: including current and past surveys, results, and insights.
- Engagement sessions: opportunities to explore themes, share ideas, and co-create solutions.
- Action plans: developed in response to your feedback and aligned with the Council’s strategic goals.
- Opportunities to get involved: from thematic groups to feedback forms and more.
- Updates and resources: including videos, toolkits, and newsletters.
This hub is part of the commitment to becoming the council we need to be, and it reflects Leadership Board’s belief that staff engagement is essential to building a healthy, responsive, and inclusive organisation.
Pulse surveys
Staff pulse surveys are a key tool for understanding how staff feel about working at Shropshire Council.
The most recent survey in June 2025 received over 1,000 responses and more than 2,300 comments, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement.
For the foreseeable future, pulse surveys will be issued every 6 months to check the “pulse” of the organisation as we move forward on a journey of continuous improvement.
Engagement events
Shropshire Council has an ongoing commitment to staff engagement. Staff input, insight and feedback is invaluable in helping us shape the organisation. We want staff to have the opportunity to influence, share your experiences and ideas and be part of a collaborative and positive change for the organisation.
