Restructuring priority groups

Restructuring across the council will happen in three priority phases as below in the short, medium and long term. 

Phase 1 is made up of the restructures that have the highest amount of savings to make, or that can progress swiftly.   These should be in progress by the end of March 2025.

Phases 2 and 3 restructures include some that are more complex. These need to be considered alongside plans for our new operating model and our senior management restructure, to become the council we need to be.  These restructures should be in progress by the end of March 2026.

In addition to these, there are a number of cross cutting projects across directorates in line with our plans for the future. These will develop our collaboration internally and externally by sharing resource and skills, to enable a joined up approach to service delivery.  These have been listed separately.

Please be mindful when working with colleagues going through a restructure process that this can be a disruptive and difficult time for those involved. Wellbeing information and resources are available for everybody in the employee resizing toolkit, so please make use of this.
