You say: We need to improve systems and processes, whilst reducing bureaucracy
Emma Walters, ERP Project Manager, says:
"We’re about to conduct a root-and-branch review of the whole ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system so that we’ve all got the system we need, and so that we can all spend less time on admin, and more time on the things that matter; doing our jobs!
We’ve listened to your concerns – and will keep listening
"We know from various places that the ERP isn’t right for who we are as a council. It’s something we heard about a lot on the Getting Leadership Right programme, and now via the Time to Change survey, as well as more anecdotally. So we need to fix that, and that will mean continuing that process of listening to staff voices.
"The ERP has delivered some really significant benefits, but with this review, we need to make sure that it works for all of us: managers, service areas, and staff who just want to complete their holiday forms.
You can help us review the ERP so it works for all of us
So once the review gets going in a few months, we’re going to need your help; we’re going to be going out and asking staff from different areas to get involved, and we want to make sure that the new ERP really works for all of us.
We’ve also created an ERP improvement suggestion e-form, because, as I say, getting this right is all about listening to the people who regularly use it."
Key points
- We’re undertaking a year-long review of the ERP to see what works and what needs improving
- We’ll have more updates as we go along
- We’ll need your help to make the new, improved ERP work so we’ll be arranging workshops in the coming months. Start thinking about what we need to change!
- We have an ERP Support Chatbot in MS Teams that is loaded with FAQs and the ability to “ask an expert” for further help. (Videos on how to find and use the bot are here)
- We also have a suite of 'How to' videos on MS Stream and YouTube
- Katie Dawson runs fortnightly ERP support drop in clinics for targeted ERP questions and assistance virtually on MS teams. Dates and links for these are here on the Intranet
